Fly to Helsinki
Tampere is easily reachable from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Helsinki airport has direct flights from over 140 destinations in over 50 countries, and is an important hub for transfer between Europe and Asia.
By train from Helsinki airport to Tampere: train connection from Helsinki airport every hour (1.5 h trip) with a change at Tikkurila. You can buy your tickets in advance from VR website or on the spot from the ticket vending machines on the platform at the airport train station (payment by credit/debit card only, no cash).
By bus from Helsinki airport to Tampere: if you arrive in Helsinki very late in the evening when there is no train connection available anymore, you can still get to Tampere by bus. Check Matkahuolto website from Helsinki Airport (Vantaa) to Tampere. The options with 1 transfer (transfer time 5 min) are reliable, the second bus will wait to pick up the passengers from the airport.
Fly to Tampere
Air Baltic flights through Riga and some direct connections from Europe are available to Tampere Pirkkala airport. From the airport you can take a taxi (approx 50 eur, we recommend Taksi Tampere company, check "Taksi Tampere" app for easy taxi orders) or local transportation bus 103.
Visa information
Visa information and application forms (in several languages) can be found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland website. Finland is part of the Schengen Area. Please check well in advance, if you need to apply for a visa.
If you need an invitation letter to apply for your visa, please send your request to dcase.workshop@gmail.com after you have registered to the workshop. We cannot provide invitation letters to unregistered participants.

Tampere Hall ("Tampere Talo" in Finnish, address: Yliopistonkatu 55) is the largest culture and conference centre in the Nordic countries, and home to the only Moomin Museum in the world. Tampere Hall is within 5 minutes walk from the railway station, with many hotels within short walking distance.

Paidia is located in Nokia Arena (address: Kansikatu 3), a few minutes walk from Tampere Talo. You can get to Paidia via Nokia Arena main A-doors. Once you enter, go through the gates on your left, and via escalators to the 3rd floor. Paidia is located at the end of the escalators on the left (opposite to the A3 gate of the arena). An accessible route to Paidia is through the elevators from the entry: take the elevator to the 3rd floor, then when you exit the elevator go left.
